Welcome to my website, Dichroic Adventures, featuring hand-made Dichroic glass art jewelry and home accessories. My name is Joni and every glass item I offer for sale is individually designed and hand crafted. All of my pieces are unique and while I often make similar pieces, no two are ever the same.
What's my process?
My pieces are created by first developing a design then cutting multiple layers of glass and firing the glass in a kiln to temperatures up to 1550 degrees. Each piece may be fired several times,adding different layers with each firing until the desired effect is obtained. After each firing the glass is then slowly cooled (annealed) for strength and stability. After the glass has been fired it is usually cold-worked with a glass saw and/or glass grinder for final shaping and then placed in the kiln and fired one final time. This entire process can take up to a week to complete a single finished piece.
